Disha was started in Jharsa village in Jan'09. The operations and model are similar to that of Unnati. The school caters to students from 3-4 surrounding slums consisting of families of rag collectors. The initial student strength is 50. We have been able to acquire a community building in the village. A regular teacher has been hired to conduct the classes from 0900-1300. This includes some basic refreshment at end of each class.
