You'd be glad to know that the I am No Lab Rat campaign on GM foods is gaining great momentum in Delhi. The campaign was officially launched on 1st July with Singer Rabbi Shergil flagging off the novel cycle rally. We had a short coverage of the same in The Hindu as well. There are series of events planned for the forthcoming months and wherever you prefer like pitching in, do come forward .

1. Morning Walks
The volunteers of the campaign are carrying on petitions and leaflets in their hands and approaching health conscious people who go our for morning walks in prominent parks of Delhi. Right now they are camping at Nehru Park and there are more such parks to be approached. These bunch of guys reach the park at 5.30 in the morning and target people on one on one basis to talk to them and discuss and rope people in to the campaign as well as request them to write to the PM. There are few one on one outreach planned for the weekends as well in the evenings. Interested volunteers directly can talk to Ankit at 9313537417

2. Movie Screening
The movie Poison on the Platter is being screened at various places of Delhi including schools / colleges / RWA's etc.,... You can help us in getting us a screening done in your school / college / community center / corporate office as well :). We'll arrange for people who will come and screen the movie and discuss the issue with people after the movie.

3. Community Outreach
Imam Sahib of Jamma Masjid has kindly agreed to put up a Kiosk of I am No Lab Rat in front of the entry gate of Jamma Masid on Thursday / Friday. We will be having pamphlets printed in Urdu [we've shown the leaf let to Imam Sahib as well]. We would need volunteers to sit at the Kiosk [if not the full day then for a couple of hours] and issue leaflets to the people and discuss the same and get their signature

This Sunday the Arch Bishop have agreed to set up our Kiosk in the church as well. So we require volunteers for the same.

The head of Gurudwara's have agreed for the same at various Gurudwara's such as Bangla Sahib, Rakeeb Ganj and Seesh Ganj one's. We will circulate the dates of the Kiosk there. Volunteers can pitch in there as well.

RWA's association URJA [United Residence Joint Association] have agreed to request their 2000 RWA's to write to the prime minister. They also might try to get a movie screening scheduled at various RWA's. You can also try to talk to your RWA and arrange a screening there :).

4. Streetplay
There is a team of volunteers who've come up with a crispy 15 minute streetplay... They are planning to launch the play from this Sunday. They'll have plays perfomred at different places on different dates. You can get us permission to do the play at prominent places around you. May be colleges / corporates etc., They are planning to perform at dilli haat, central park. Volunteers interested in theater can join the streetplay team as well :).

5. Public Lecture
There is a public lecture on 10th of July 17.30 hours at IIC on the issue of GM foods. Please do join in and spread the word

6. Media Outreach
We are looking for volunteers who are good with PR to have a media outreach and probably rope in a radio station for covering some of our events. A few volunteers are already working on the same. If a few more are interested please do get back :).

7. Brinjal Festival - Watch out for this space...... soon to come up with a lot more updates
