The
Jaagriti team thought of celebrating this Diwali in a very joyful and
colourful manner and so decided to have a Rangoli Making Competition
for the children and volunteers on the day of Diwali.
'Rangoli' signifies
creative expression of art by means of colours and is also considered a
symbol of good-luck. Rangoli is made on the entrance doors of homes, to
welcome guests and goddess Laxmi (the goddess of wealth and fortune).
For
the competition, the children were divided into 6 groups of 6 Children
each, along with 2 volunteers with each group. They were given 1 hour
to complete their Rangoli.
